Bill Brown has a history of commercial fishing on the Coorong, so this venture – Coorong Fisheries, represents a return for Bill to his ‘sea roots’ and a fabulous addition to the Coorong Apiaries suite of business enterprises.

Coorong Fisheries is licensed as a sustainable fishing business to ensure that not only are consumers provided with fresh, high quality Coorong Mullet, but the critical ecosystems of the Coorong and its waterways are protected.

Coorong Mullet (also called Yellow Eye Mullet) swim in both salt water and estuaries and has a distinctive sweet flavour that varies slightly according to the salinity of the Coorong and available food sources. Fillets of Coorong Mullet are soft, moist and high in Omega 3, lending themselves to an array of cooking techniques including grilling, pan frying and crumbing. Because the fillets are relatively small, they cook quickly making them ideal for a nutritious, easy to prepare meal for all the family.
